County Emergency Preparedness Drill September 25

Genesee Community College and the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments are holding a mock Medication Point of Dispensing (POD) exercise next Friday, September 25th from11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The drill will be held in the Forum.  The point of this exercise is to teach the community how to respond if an emergency of this type were to occur and to test the County’s ability to dispense medications to a large portion of  the public.

The Health Department must have everyone who participates in the POD exercise sign a permission slip.  There will be an opportunity to pre-register next week or register at the event.

The Health Department and GCC need participation from the majority of people on campus that day.  Please take a few minutes on the 25th to participate. Students are welcome to attend as well.

At the POD, once you go through the line you will receive a mock medication, since this is merely a drill, they will be dispensing Skittles & M&Ms.  As a thank you for participating there will be a slice of pizza and water available. (If you would like more than one slice of pizza – go through the line more than once. There is no limit on the number of times you can go through the line.)

This POD will be held on Friday September 25 from 11:00 a.m.1:00 p.m.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
