Can you say Thurple? Thurple what??
“THURPLE” for ‘PURPLE THURSDAYS’!
Purple is the signature color for Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.
Please show your support for this campaign against domestic violence by wearing PURPLE on THURSDAYS during the month of October – sport your purple socks, purple shirts, purple shoes, purple ties, purple jewelry, anything purple! We will be joining our SUNY partners and turning our campus PURPLE for our annual SHINE THE LIGHT campaign on Wednesday, October 21st (more exciting details to come…)!!!
~WAIT,…. there’s more!~
We are also proud to announce that GCC is teaming us with the Genesee County YWCA for an event called:
#THURPLE!
The YWCA has proclaimed the first Thursday of the month as Healthy Relationships Day and, as a result,
is planning a series of events to happen on this day. That includes the annual Stiletto & Sneaker Walk, an agency partner thank-you breakfast, balloon launch and Community Harvest Supper to cap off the day with a delicious meal prepared with local agricultural produce and products. Local school districts will also be invited to participate by wearing purple and showing support with positive messages focused
on healthy relationships.
