Purple Briefcase Information Session

Attend Virtually:

This workshop will show you how to use our exciting new job/internship search tool! Learn how to create your own Purple Briefcase account, gain confidence in ability to complete the O*NET Interest Profiler, and exhibit a clear understanding of how to access the Job Bulletin!

Career Exploration Fair
September 18th – Forum, 12:30 – 2:00

Not sure what you want to do for the rest of your life? Explore the many career opportunities that begin with a degree from GCC. Program Directors and Faculty will be present to discuss degree programs and potential careers. Also available will be career assessment tools, a LinkedIn photo booth, and more!

Cyber Security Fair
October 3rd – Forum, 11:30-1:30

Join select GCC students, student clubs, and staff, as well as area businesses to explore how and why it is essential to safeguard your online activities and assets in today’s ever-changing and increasingly complex techno-sphere.

What’s your Cyber Awareness IQ?  Do you know what to do if you are a victim of identity theft?  Do you know how to search and remove malware from your computer, phone, and other mobile device?  Do you how to avoid being a perpetrator or victim of cyber-bullying?  Do you follow thoughtful netiquette behavior on social media sites? Are you aware of career opportunities available in the cyber security field?

Earn tickets when you participate at presenters’ tables.  Show a valid GCC ID card and submit tickets for FREE pizza, GCC dining dollars, and GCC Bookstore swag.

Job Search Workshop

Not all available job openings are easy to find; therefore, you need to know how to take advantage of all available resources. In this workshop, you will learn strategies regarding navigating the web, networking, utilizing social media, reading newspapers, accessing government agencies and more!

Interviewing Workshop

Attend Virtually:

This workshop will discuss tips and strategies for a successful in-person or phone interview. We’ll discuss the many types of interviews, the interview process, and potential questions.

Resume & Cover Letter Writing Workshop
November 13th – SSC, G200, 12:30 – 1:30
Attend Virtually:

Impressing an employer with your resume and cover letter while they are in a stack of 100 others can be a challenge. This workshop will guide you on the proper format and content of a resume and cover letter to give you the best shot at being granted a personal interview.
