In this seminar we will explore the basic principles of matrimonial law which include topics such as spousal support, distribution of marital assets and debts, taxation and health insurance, as well as separate property principles. What is the difference between a divorce, a legal separation, and an annulment; What is the divorce process; How much time is involved and what are the legal costs; Do I need an attorney to file a divorce in all cases; When is mediation an option.

What are my legal options as a parent when my child repeatedly disobeys me; What if my child is getting into legal trouble; What are PINS (Person in Need of Supervision) and Juvenile Delinquency (JD) proceedings; Will court action result in a criminal record for my child. Come and learn about how the actions and behaviors of children can result in both Family Court intervention for truancy, alcohol and substance abuse, bullying, fighting, stealing, destruction of property, sexting and others. This seminar will also explore Family Offense proceedings and what are the legal options if a spouse, a relative or a significant other becomes physically abusive. Should I proceed in Family Court, Criminal Court, or both courts; How do I obtain an Order of Protection; How long will it last; What other services are available to individuals involved in domestic abuse?
