RE:                             October  Employee and Student of the Month

________________________________________________________________________

It is my pleasure to announce that Dawn Hough has been selected as the October Employee of the Month and Lorraine Briggs has been chosen the Student of the Month.

Since joining the GCC staff approximately five years ago, Dawn has become a tremendous asset to the College and to our Duplicating Center in particular.  She is one of those people who is somewhat “behind the scenes” at GCC, but one whose work is so important to our operation and to our ability to provide education to our students.  She assists the full-time operator each day in helping to meet the heavy demands of the Duplicating Center to get the copy requests done quickly, correctly, and efficiently.  Dawn is always willing to step in when the full-time person is away and she willingly puts in extra hours when asked to do so.  Dawn shows a real team-oriented spirit with her willingness to help at the switchboard providing lunch breaks and extra hours as needed.  Her cooperative attitude is much appreciated and valued by the college community.

Lorraine exemplifies student leadership in her positions as Chair of the Campus Activity Board and as a Student Government Senator.  She has great skill in conducting organized meetings and has the ability and talent for organizing and rallying people around a common cause.  Lorraine is on the DECA advisory board and has helped to produce the annual fashion shows.  She also works as a lab assistant in the computer lab and is always helpful to faculty, staff, and students, and even helps to train new assistants.  She maintains a positive attitude, serves as a great role model for her peers, and has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills.

Please join me in extending congratulations to Dawn and Lorraine.
